May is National Trauma Awareness Month

In recognition of the need for injury prevention in our community, Safe Kids Sylvester/Worth would like to provide a national safety fact for the public each day for the remainder of the month of May. 

Every 4 seconds, a child is treated for an injury in an emergency department.

Sylvester's Farmers Market Every Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Come early to the Depot each Saturday for produce, artisan soaps and more from 10 or more vendors. John Green, 3rd generation farmer, is just one vendor who brings his homemade cane syrup and sauces to sell.

 Please Install Smoke Alarms

The city has experienced several fires over the past few months where there were no smoke alarms or they were not properly working.The City of Sylvester Fire Department, through a grant from the Centers for Disease Control, provides smoke alarms free to residents in the city. Our goal is to have at least one working smoke alarm in every home in Sylvester. 

To schedule an appointment to have a free smoke alarm installed, citizens in Sylvester can contact the department at 776-8510.
